The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign (2021-2023)
The iconic Salvation Army red kettle campaign began in 1891 by Captain Joseph McFee, a Salvation Army officer who was looking for a way to cover the cost of the community Christmas meal. Recalling his days as a sailor in Liverpool, England, he recreated the “Simpson’s Pot”, an iron pot where charitable donations were placed by passersby. Captain McFee placed a similar pot at the Oakland Ferry Landing, at the foot of Market Street where it could be seen by all those going to and from the ferry boats.
Four Seasons Garden Club (2020-2023)
Since 1963, the Four Seasons Garden Club has worked to stimulate an interest in gardening, landscaping and floral arranging. The club also promotes civic beautification and conservation along with the protection of forests, wildflowers and birds. The club strives to create an appreciation for gardening in their members and throughout the community.
Animal Crackers Music Series at Racine Zoo (2023)
Invite your friends, grab your folding chairs, and enjoy the scenic view of Lake Michigan while listening to some truly amazing artists from across the U.S. and atop the charts for the 37th annual Animal Crackers Concert Series.
Waterford River Rhythms (2023)
Waterford River Rhythms is a free music in the park concert series with 7 shows throughout the summer. They are located in Village Hall Park in Waterford, WI. Their mission is "To continually provide an Upscale Event that will Enhance the Community."
Racine Youth Sports (2023)
The Racine Youth Sports mission is to provide a quality, structured youth sport activities to the children of Racine County. The developmental programs will teach sports fundamentals, good sportsmanship, character, discipline, competitiveness, and teamwork in a positive, caring and safe environment. Participants will have an equal opportunity to learn and compete while knowledgeable volunteers will promote the philosophies and principles of community and fair play.
Kiwanis Baseball Club (since 2016)
The Western Kiwanis Youth Baseball Program started operations with eight teams in 1952. The League was composed of 13- through 18-year-olds playing baseball on a major league-sized diamond. The Western Kiwanis Youth Baseball Program provides an opportunity for 350-400 Kenosha young people to play summer baseball.
Back the Badge Annual Golf Outing (2020-2023)
Band of Blue is a non-profit organization committed to supporting families of fallen officers. Located in Southeastern Wisconsin, we connect with families across the nation to help them move forward after tragedy. We band together to provide everlasting support and create a transformative experience that honors their loved one’s service and sacrifice.
