Upon arrival made call for cooling. Verified blower operation and went outside to find unit was running but buzzing loudly. Turned off at disconnect and checked AC cabinet. Tested 45/5 capacitor herm side tested 0 fan tested good at 5. Replaced bad capacitor and returned power to outdoor unit, fired right up. Unit has since stopped buzzing and is fully operational. Contactor in good condition. Suction PSI 115 Liquid PSI 250 ODT 71.7° Today’s visit and part paid for card. Customer signed up for gold plan during today’s visit.
Upon arrival unit was not turning on. Found portable AC was plugged into a power strip. This should always be plugged into a wall receptacle, never a power strip. Because of this, it tripped the breaker. Reset breaker and unit fired up no issues. Left original portable AC in place as it does work fine.
Upon arrival outdoor unit was not getting 240VAC. Checked disconnect and found power was not present there either. Went to basement to inspect breaker panel. Reset breaker but did not hear any compressor noise. Reset a second time and heard the compressor start up. Went outside and verified power was now present. Unit was running and blowing hot air as it should. Informed customer her compressor is starting to fail and overamping. We could throw a hard start kit to possibly buy some time or replace compressor or replace outdoor unit. She would like a quote before making any decision. Office will call to schedule quote for replacement AC.
Just completed an install quality check on a Bryant single stage system we installed, the guys did a great job and the customer is happy!
